You can only buy our products by making an order online at www.computer.is. General information about products, price and links to manufacturers are available on product pages. Below is a step-by-step guide in how to sign-up and make an order on Computer.is


1. In the top right corner of the front page is a column named “Viðskiptavinur”. You have to click on the word “hér” to sign in.

2. If you have signed in before you can skip step 3-7 and proceed to step #8. You type the e-mail address and password you used when you signed up for access to our web shop. Type in the e-mail address in the field named “netfang”. Type your password in the field where it says “Ég hef skráð mig inn áður og lykilorðið er”. Then press the button below “Áfram”.

3. If you have not signed in before then you put your e-mail address in the field named “netfang”, next you select the top option that says “Ég hef ekki skráð mig inn áður.” and press the button named “Áfram” to continue registration.

4. Now we ask you for the following information: Your full name, social security number (kennitala), password for this account and confirmation of password, telephone number, mobile number, street address and postal code. The fields marked with an asterisk * are required. After filling out the form with correct information please click on the button below “Áfram”. Please note that our customer service can help you if you have changed e-mail addresses or lost your password. Just send an e-mail to info@computer.is and we will reply to you as soon as we can during office hours.

5. Now you have created an account in our web shop and as a customer you can purchase products online using the e-mail address and password. In the previous step when you pressed the Áfram button, you should automatically have been forwarded to the main page of Computer.is.

6. Now you have to click again on the word “hér” in the top right corner where it says “Viðskiptavinur” to sign in using the information submitted before.

7. Type in your e-mail address in the field “netfang” and password in the field below. Then press the button “Áfram”.

8. Now you should have been automatically transferred back to the main page of Computer.is. In the top right corner below “Viðskiptavinur” you should see your name.

9. Now you can add any product into the basket for purchase. To find the product you are looking for, you can use the search field in the centre of the top of the page “Leitaðu”. When you have found the product you wish to add to the basket, then you click on the product description to open the product page for further details. On the product page there is a field where you can change the quantity and click the button “Setja í körfu” which is located both in the top right and bottom right corners of the product page. When you add a product to the basket, a column on the right (Karfan þín) appears listing the items you have already selected for the basket.

10. When you have selected the products you are interested in and added each product to the basket, then you click on “Karfan/Panta” at the bottom in the column where your basket items are listed.

11. Now you can see all the items in your basket listed with quantity and price. The total price appears where it says “Samtals”. To remove items from the basket you simply change the quantity of the unwanted item to 0 and click the button “Endurreikna”.

12. To check out and complete the order of the items in your basket you choose delivery method in the drop-down menu where it says “Veldu sendingarmáta”.

To have the order sent to you with mail (Íslandspóstur) you select “Póstsending”.

To have the order sent to you with mail and an insurance you select “Ábyrgðarsending”.

To have the order sent to you by mail order (payment occurs when the mail is delivered to your home) please select “Póstkrafa”.

If you wish to pick up your order at our service desk, please select “Verður sótt”.

When you have selected your delivery method click the button “áfram”.

13. On the next page you have to select payment method. If you selected on the previous page to pick up your order, then you can choose “greitt á staðnum” and pay when the order is delivered at our service desk. We accept Visa/Mastercard/debetcard/Icelandic checks and cash (Icelandic krona only) at our service desk. If you chose to have your order delivered by mail then you can select “Kreditkort” and pay by credit card. If you chose to have your order delivered by mail order then you pay for your order when Íslandspóstur delivers the order to your door or when you pick it up at their nearest office. When you have selected the appropriate payment option, please click “áfram”.

14. On this page you can review your information. If there is something you wish to change, then you can always click the button “til baka” to go back. Before submitting and completing the order you must check the red box and thereby agree to our terms and conditions. You can view our terms and conditions by clicking “Skilmálar Computer.is” which opens up in a new pop-up window. When you have checked the red box you can click the button “Panta”. Make sure you check the red box before proceeding.

15. When you click the button “Panta” there appears a blank page with a message “Pöntunin hefur verið móttekin”. Only when this message appears your order has been processed and sent to our database. Please click “Áfram” to go to our main page.

Within 2-3 minutes from completing the order you will receive an e-mail with details and confirmation that your order has been received. If you chose to have the order delivered by mail, then your e-mail should contain a tracking number similar to FA 890000110 IS. You can track your order at Íslandspóstur if it has not been delivered to you within 3 working days. To track your order call Íslandspóstur service at 580-1200.
